I'm Bringing Sexy Back...

Random title, I know. I actually like that song just a little bit, but sshh! You can't tell anyone. I don't like Justin Timberlake. Nasty fellow. I feel like I should be dancing to that song in my new dress. Well, maybe not. But I like it very much. It's very classic- black, chic, shiny silver diamondy things along the collar (well, the halter bit of it) and across the front in a nice line. It's very 1940's or 1950's. Or maybe 1920's. I don't know my fashion decades. I also got some snazzy black gloves to go with it, a black purse with shiny bits on it, and some shiny barrettes. I gave up on the shoes. I'll borrow some from Sara or Jessica. The pink dress looked very bad on me... It looked like cake. Not good. One blue one looked like a nightgown, another blue one was decent, but the exact same design as my Christmas ball dress in a different color. The gold one was nice, but the black was nicer. Shutting up about dresses now.

The trip itself was fun. Any trip with 7 slightly hyper girls in one vehicle will be amusing. Especially if you add in using about 1/4 of my text messages for the month in one day. I think it was more than that, actually... Oh well. It was worth it! Panera food was tasty, traipsing about Crossroads was lovely. Sara made up a new word. "Selfibalism." The exact quote was something like "That's not canibalism... That's... Selfibalism!" Don't ask. Another quote from a tired me: "Nooo! Off is the other way! Take them off!" Sara had draped a huge pile of gold necklaces over my head, they got stuck on my face, and were itchy. I wanted them off. Great times.

In other news, I got my financial aid award letter from Hamline today, along with housing information. Must send in deposit soon...
Summary (On a yearly basis)
Total Cost, including tuition, room and board, miscellaneous expenses:
$35,206.
Son of a...! *expletive*
Scholarships, Grants:
$21,123.
I don't have to pay that much back to anyone. Not bad. That's over half.
Must be paid back eventually, but could be worse:
Fed. Perkins and Stafford loans
$5,900

Other loans... (Here the rich aunt will come in, methinks.)
$2,592

Student Employment/Work study:
$3,000
Altogether... They've given me ways to pay for all of it, and I don't have to pay as much back as other people do. It could be a hell of a lot worse. (It could be a full ride, like Sara has... But not everyone is so amazing!) I can manage it, I suppose. I'll only spend a decade or so paying back student loans. My dad still has outstanding loans, and he's almost 60. *shrug* It works. I might get some of those school scholarships, too.

I'm wearing those black gloves as I type. It's fun.

Yep, it is. This is the one advantage to having a poor family. You know that FAFSA form? When I filled it out, there were a lot of zeroes.
    Estimated Family Contribution: 0
